Mariah Carey doopt Disney Fantasy
Op donderdagavond werd de Disney Fantasy feestelijk gedoopt in New York door Mariah Carey. Tot op het laatste moment had de Disney Cruise Line uiteraard geheim gehouden wie de voltrekking zou doen. Bij de Manhattan Terminal in New York vond de festiviteit plaats. Naast Mariah Carey waren bijvoorbeeld ook Jerry Seinfeld en de burgemeester van New York present. Maar Mariah Carey was de persoon die in het atrium begon met aftellen tot een grote champagnefles verscheen waaruit confetti en slingers plopten. Het aftellen was een knipoog naar het aftellen voor het beroemde oud & nieuw feest op Times Square.
Het prachtige schip is het vierde cruiseschip in de vloot. 1250 hutten kunnen in totaal 2500 gasten ontvangen. De Disney Fantasy maakt pas op 31 maart 2012 haar maidenvoyage. Vanuit Port Canaveral gaat het schip in het Caribbisch gebied varen.
